Week 2 Participation Write:

The objective of this assignment is to help fulfill the course learning objective: analyze the relevance of specific disciplines (such as art, literature, science, technology, social sciences, history, political science and philosophy).

Present an argument that could be delivered to a school board or college explaining why the creation of art, music, dance, sporting activity and literature should or should not be made a fundamental part of every school’s pre-K to 12th grade curriculum.

Write a one sentence thesis statement that argues your point.

Brainstorm reasons why or why not you think every school should or should not include this discipline into its curriculum.

I will not be collecting this Participation Write but I will be asking you to share your one sentence argument with the class.

Your writing task for week 2 will be to write a summary of this argument (300 words) and to find five sources that support your argument.  You will also need to write about how or why each source supports your thesis.
